Frank Frazetta

I was around 14 when I bought the Fantastic Art of Frank Frazetta, vol. 2 during summer vacation. I can still remember seeing his art for the first time, and the adrenaline rush that went through me. No other artist created such a strong emotional response in me, and I could think of little else for the next 10 years.

Frank Frazetta is far and away my favorite artist, painter, illustrator, and cartoonist, and the main reason I wanted to become an artist. No other person has had more of an influence on the way I think about drawing, composition, and shapes.

TUP on Art

Cartoons by Bob Tupper, who over the last few years has become one of my all-time favorite cartoonists. There are currently close to 1000 prime Tupper cartoons at www.cartoonretro.com, and I am preparing a book collection. I haven't been able to find much biographical information on Tupper, so if you have any information or artwork to share, please contact me. I know he was in the Navy, and lived in San Francisco and Fallbrook, CA.
