Abel Ianiro: Canal TV

A bunch of caricature covers taken from eBay. I have a lot of great work by Ianiro (Argentina 1919-1960) and other South American cartoonists on Cartoon Retro.

these are f-ing masterpieces! thanks. i would never have heard of this guy but for your previous and generous postings on the original C.R.

He's an absolute genius. Lloyd Bridges is spooky good.

What's with the short-lives of all these South American cartoon gods? They all seemed to have live fast and died way too young?

anyways--as always THANK YOU SHANE!!!

There's also Jorge de los Rios, who did similar covers for the same magazine. Still alive and has a blog:

Shane, No need to publish this on your site. Please consider adding my comics blog to Shane Glines' Cartoon Retro site's Blog list. My comics are completely original.
I love your blog and use it to follow links from your blog list often. I have a link to your blog on mine boblillycomics.blogspot.com

Abel Ianiro was unbelievably good, sadly he died quite young.
A mayor inspiration, I used to buy the magazine in the fifties only because the covers.I have one of his originals, a true beauty.
